RESILIENCY: MIAMI SEA LEVEL RISE

COMPETITION: Adapting residences to climate change in lower income neighborhoods in Miami, Florida. There were two sites to implement the strategies.

RESULT: 1st place for the Little Havana neighborhood site.

The map of Miami shows the predicted sea level rise, affecting all the single family homes, parks, and city blocks in the areas shown covered in the blue color.

Roads and sidewalks were adapted to create a more Resilient streetscape- this included porous paving and a bioswale. The section shows these street updates, as well as the possible resilient possibilities homeowners can affordably carry out.
